MIKE MIDNIGHT

A leading light of contemporary downtempo and trip-hop, Mike Midnight has established himself over the past decade as a versatile DJ and producer. His recent run of stellar EPs, including Angel Hours, and the collaborative project trickpony with friends Roza Terenzi and Gem K, explore 00s nostalgia through lush textures, emotional depth and playful, referential sampling.

His mixes for NTS’s Braden Wells, Rinse FM’s Baraka and pipipi showcase his skills behind the decks. Drawing on a deep knowledge of club music, obscure trip-hop and downtempo, Mike moves with a delicate sense of energy and flow, building hazy, morning-after soundscapes of hopeful synth pads, angelic vocal washes and bleepy melodies.
