Regis

Relja Cupić (Regis) is a Montenegrin composer and artist working between Paris, and Montenegro. His practice spans film scoring, contemporary art and performance, sound installations, theatre, dance, and fashion rooted in Balkan musical heritage translated into a contemporary language.

Recent projects include the original score for Fantasy by director Kukla, premiered at the Locarno Film Festival; a performance at the Bangkok Biennial; a composition for Korakrit Arunanondchai’s performance; and work for an exhibition by the Daisies collective (commissioned by Dover Street Market Paris).

Shaped by soundsystem culture, Cupić emerged alongside Belgrade's Mystic Stylez collective in the 2010s. He is a member of New York label/organization RAPRAVE, a platform for contemporary rap/club music that bridges NYC and European undergrounds through releases and curated events
